Lion Underwriting was established in March 2015 and has developed into a well-known brand and provider of insurance capacity across numerous classes and industry sectors.

Apart from General Liability, we also write Property, Professional Lines ( which includes PI, D&O, Cyber, Management Liability, Medical Malpractice & Legal Expenses) and Marine along with bespoke white labelled products.

We have traditionally focussed on hard-to-place risks, despite which we maintain a strong ability and appetite for the more vanilla type risks across all classes.

What differentiates us from our peers is that, whilst we have partners, we are totally privately owned. In the current market of acquisitions and mergers, this position is becoming quite unique. We pride ourselves on being innovative in conceptualising, structuring, and developing new products whilst always striving to preserve premium competitiveness and provide broad policy coverage.

By streamlining our internal and external processes we can provide our brokers with the best service possible. We strive for continuous improvement and as such can offer our valued brokers the capability of contacting us not only on-line via Live Chat but also through a Smartphone app.

Lion Underwriting only works with licensed general insurance brokers within national cluster groups, smaller associations, Authorised Representative models or independents. We offer training and support to our brokers as part of our value proposition and in today’s challenging and changing environment, we can also offer discussion via Microsoft Teams, Zoom etc.

We have built a solid and experienced team over the years, the “pride” as we like to call them. Each member of the pride brings to the team a unique and different skill set combined with others we have a fantastic staff complement that serve the needs and provide solutions for our valued brokers.
